Ms. Patti Lagos

Hello Waite Park Wildcats!

Welcome to my page!

Hi, I’m Patti Lagos. I’m so excited to be an Instructional Specialist with Minneapolis Public Schools at Waite Park Community School and Clara Barton Open School. 2017-18 marks my 24th school year as an educator.  I’ve been a educator in South Dakota, Virginia and in three other Minnesota districts: North Branch, Chaska, Anoka-Hennepin. I have taught German in grades 7-12 and ESL in grades K-12. This is my 5th year in an instructional leadership position supporting educators of PreK-12th grade and adult learners.  I have earned a Bachelor's degree in German Education, a Master's degree in Teaching and Learning, an additional licensure in ESL, most recently an Education Specialist degree in 2014, and I'm a licensed K-12 Principal. I serve as a facilitator for Saint Mary's University's Teaching and Learning M. Ed program. I LOVE to learn and gain perspective from others. I want to support all the Waite Park educators and their students in creating an ideal environment for equitable, fun, responsive teaching and learning.

I am passionate about culturally and linguistically responsive instruction and leadership, social justice and educational equity.  I have 3 children, 2 soon-to-be step-daughters, a recently-adopted dog, and my fiancé is a professional drummer from El Salvador. I am an avid salsa/Latin dancer and play bluegrass mandolin. Send me a message if you want to know more about what an Instructional Specialist does.
