What Is a Community School?

A community school is both a place and a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources. Its integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development and community engagement leads to improved student learning, stronger families and healthier communities. Community schools offer a personalized curriculum that emphasizes real-world learning and community problem-solving.

Waite Park is committed to helping our students achieve excellence by offering challenging curriculum for Pre-K through 5th grade students. At Waite Park, our mission is to assist students in meeting academic goals in the areas of Math, Language Arts, Science, and Technology. Our staff is devoted to providing a caring and encouraging environment, and clear rules and consequences. We will actively engage students in learning, model positive and responsible behavior, and encourage students to read for pleasure!

Waite Park is classified as a Title One school. For more information on what that means please refer to the Title One Info Packet for Families and the Student/School Compact documents linked below.
