GEMS/GISE

The MPS GEMS-GISE summer program will offer two STEM Academy experiences for students this summer.

  • Who: GEMS/GISE students and Minneapolis Public School (MPS) students currently in grades K-8.
  • What: A summer program focused on STEM learning in a project-based and problem-based curriculum and instructional approach.
  • Where:
    • GEMS/GISE at Andersen United Elementary: Grades K-4 (2018-19 Grade)   
    • 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM
    • GEMS/GISE at Olson Middle School and Sanford Middle School: 
    • Grades 5-7 (2018-19 Grade)  9:15 AM - 3:45 PM
  • When: June 17th through July 25th; Monday through Thursday (Closed July 4th)
  • Transportation, breakfast, and lunch are provided.

K-4 Summer Session 2019

K-4 instruction is focused on accelerating student growth through culturally relevant, socially and emotionally supportive programming.   

 

  • Where: Waite Park Community School
  • 9:15 a.m. – 3:45

 

5-7 Summer Session 2019

The program focuses on Reading and Math, but also includes subjects such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Social Studies, Art, Music, Physical Education and other classes.

 

  • Where: Olson Middle School and Sanford Middle School
  • 9:15 a.m. – 3:45
